The Captain’s Lake The Lake
The Captain’s Lake is a mature tree lined farm pond of nearly two acres in size, set in a peaceful and attractive location in Frating Essex. The Fish -
The lake was originally stocked several years ago, but has only been lightly fished for the past 5 years by a limited number of anglers who have caught good Common and Mirror Carp to over 30lb.
In 2006 the lake was re-stocked with a number of English Carp from 2lb to 18lb, from Framlingham Fisheries, as well as some small Tench and Crucian Carp, these add to the already present stock of Carp, Rudd, Perch and Bream. Why fish Captain’s Lake?
The Captain’s Lake will only be available for a limited number of weeks each year, and will therefore not be over fished.
As a result of this restricted fishing the Carp are in excellent condition, and even we do not know exactly what is in the lake, or how big they could be. The lake is available exclusively for your hire.
The varied stock and size of the fish make the lake ideal for a quiet break for a father and son (or daughter), who wish to try different methods for different species of fish, or for a couple of friends looking for a bit of mystery or just to get away from a noisy or crowded club lake. How to fish Captain’s Lake?
The lake is available for exclusive booking, for a small party of up to 3 anglers. (Non-anglers are also welcome)
The cost, for the whole lake, for 24 hours is £60.
However, bookings from a Friday to Monday, or Monday to Friday are available at £150. Bookings for a whole week are available at £250.
Directions will be made available on confirmation of your booking, as will the padlock combination number.
